Fewer than 26,000 rhinos remain in Africa & Asia today, and the wildlife trafficking market amounts to over $20 billion dollars. At the core of it all is a rapidly expanding demand in a variety of products, including bushmeat, jewelry, trinkets, furs and trophies. Corruption and money that is generated from these illicit activities destroys working people and the tribal and indigenous populations in the areas.
Poaching for Rhino horns threatens the future of the species and contributes to rampant habitat loss. Our efforts support work to stop the loss of rhinos in Africa, and to protect and increase the current rhino population throughout the region. In affect, protecting tribal and indigenous populations and contributing to sustainable economic development.
